Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Landfill Attendant (Public Weighman).

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing landfill office operations at Vunato Landfill Site, including:

  • Operating the weighbridge system at Vunato Landfill
  • Receiving and recording revenue, issuing receipts and invoices
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports

Applicants should be reliable, numerate, and able to work independently in a landfill environment.

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Minimum Form 6 with numeracy skills
  • Licensed public weighmen would be desirable
  • Experience in weighbridge, landfill, or administrative operations would be an advantage
  • Reliable, honest, and able to work independently
  • Basic computer skills; driver’s licence would be an advantage

Landfill Attendant (Public Weighman) – Weighbridge Attendant – JD

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of 3R Officer.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the operations of the Return and Earn Fiji Initiative. Key responsibilities include coordination of recycling activities, maintenance of accurate records, and delivery of 3R awareness and promotional programs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Waste Management, Sustainability, Public Health, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in waste management, recycling initiatives, environmental programs, or community outreach
  • Sound knowledge of 3R principles and solid waste management practices
  • Basic administrative experience, including record keeping and report preparation
  • Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and email
  • Experience in handling cash and receipting

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct community awareness programs, workshops, and promotional activities
  • Genuine interest in environmental management and recycling initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work within communities and outdoors as required
  • Ability to communicate in English; knowledge of iTaukei and/or Hindi will be an advantage
  • Possession of a valid driver’s licence and driving skills will be an advantage
